A little piece of old Japan, brought back to life.
This one-of-a-kind basket bag celebrates the playful spirit of Japan's Showa era (1926–1989), featuring a colorful collage of nostalgic illustrations, retro advertising labels, and charming characters.
Handcrafted using the traditional Japanese Ikkanbari technique, the process begins with a bamboo basket layered with washi paper. Dyed washi and carefully selected decorative paper pieces are then applied, with each stage requiring time to dry.
The cheerful yellow background brings together fragments of Japanese pop culture and everyday memories, creating a playful contrast between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary fashion.
Finished with cord handles and a leather grip, this lightweight basket is both a functional accessory and a small piece of wearable art.
Each basket takes considerable time to complete, making every creation truly special.
